INVERSE SCATTERING METHOD

SOLITON CHARACTERISTICS

The fundamental soliton has a general form:

\begin{equation} u(\zeta,\tau) = 2\eta_1sech(2\eta_1\tau)e^{2i\eta_1^2\zeta} \end{equation}

The canonical form chooses 2$\eta_1$=1 such that the canonical solution is:

\begin{equation} u(\zeta,\tau) = sech(\tau)e^{i\zeta/2} \end{equation}
